Collaborative Projects

Through collaborative projects, the canton of Fribourg’s Development Agency (PromFR) stimulates companies’ innovation and value-creating activities. The canton of Fribourg’s New Regional Policy (NRP) program (see PMO NRP 2020-2023) includes support from INNOSQUARE for the implementation of collaborative projects and a fund of NRP grants for two types of collaborative project:

Sectorial Collaborative Projects (PCS)

Collaborative projects for a defined sector that, with the help of a public research organization, aim to solve a technological challenge or create a new value chain. The technological innovation challenge and pre-competitive level is defined by several companies in a given business sector. A new value chain is created with several companies to produce a product or service.
Sectorial collaborative projects receive a grant from the canton of Fribourg as part of the implementation of the NRP 2020-2023 program which plans to finance 15 to 18 sectorial collaborative projects with NRP grants of up to CHF 150,000 per project.

Multi-sectorial Collaborative Projects (PCM)

Multi-sectorial or transversal collaborative projects are part of a smart specialization strategy aimed at transforming the canton of Fribourg's existing resources to increase its competitiveness, stimulate business innovation and create jobs in new value chains.
Multi-sectorial collaborative projects receive a grant from the canton of Fribourg as part of the NRP 2020-2023 program which plans to finance two to three Multi-sectorial collaborative projects with NRP grants of up to CHF 300,000 per project.
